Dear Parents,
The scientist does not study nature
because it is useful;
he studies it because he delights in it,
and he delights in it
because it is beautiful.
If nature were not beautiful,
it would not be worth knowing,
and if nature were not worth knowing,
life would not be worth living.
Jules Henri Poincaré
We built this website on the belief that the knowledge and appreciation of nature, in all of its many facets, could only result in the enrichment of the lives of our children. We originally built it for our own children, to aid us in reaching for their hands as we together admired the science of life, and to begin to taste the intricacies behind that science. We also write in an effort to learn ourselves how best to communicate, understand, and appreciate the fundamentals of science and mathematics, or at the very least, a few of the main points. We hope that you enjoy this site as much as we enjoy creating it, that your children will benefit greatly from it, even while having fun. We also value your feedback and are making every effort to keep the website as an ongoing and interactive project which we hope will continue to grow and change for as long as it is able.
